London, Sept 1: Fulham has moved late on deadline day in Europe's transfer window to sign Costa Rica winger Bryan Ruiz from Dutch club Twente on a four-year deal.
The Premier League club says it beat “many top European clubs” to the signature of Ruiz, who has joined Fulham for an undisclosed fee reported in sections of the British media to be around 10 million pounds ($16.2 million).
Ruiz, who has scored nine goals in 43 matches for Costa Rica, says “I chose to come to Fulham because it feels more personal than other clubs I have visited.”
Ruiz has the option of staying for a further year at Fulham, which also signed Orlando Sa on a three-year deal following his release by Porto. AP
