Lisbon, Portugal, Mar 17: Marc Janko and Alex Sandro scored in each half to secure a 2-0 win for Porto at Nacional on Friday, keeping the defending champion a point clear at the top of the Portuguese league.
Porto has 56 points after 23 rounds, ahead of second-place Benfica which defeated Beira Mar 3-1 with two goals from Oscar Cardozo.
Benfica's Paraguayan striker took his tally to 18, the best in the league, with strikes in the 26th and 48th.
Nicolas Gaitan also scored for the home team while Cassio pulled one back for Beira Mar in added time.
Braga, which is on a 11-game winning streak and was level with Benfica ahead of weekend action, plays at Feirense on Saturday.
