Montbeliard, France: Lyon came from behind to beat Sochaux 3-1 in the French league on Friday, scoring two goals in eight minutes to turn the match around.
Sochaux narrowly avoided relegation last season but got off to a good start when it was awarded a penalty in the fourth minute after Milan Bisevac shoulder-barged Cedric Bakambu off the ball. Ryad Boudebouz confidently converted.
However, after that it was all Lyon and the visitors' pressure paid off in the 35th minute when the ever-dangerous Clement Grenier sent a through-ball in for teenager Yassine Benzia to score his first league goal with a powerful effort into the top left corner.
Alexandre Lacazette gave Lyon the lead with his third goal in two games, firing in from the edge of the area after a delightful touch back from Benzia. The France international scored the same number of goals in 31 league matches last season.
Lyon, which finished third last season, extended its advantage moments after halftime, thanks to a well-placed effort from Yoann Gourcuff.
There was more bad news for Sochaux as Edouard Butin was stretchered off 16 minutes from time with a knee injury, following a clash with Maxime Gonalons. The striker has had an injury-ravaged career and missed 10 months last year after rupturing knee ligaments against Lyon.
Lyon, which won its opening match 4-0 last weekend, is five points clear of defending champion Paris Saint-Germain, which hosts Ajaccio on Sunday.
