Shillong, Dec 9: Langsning Football Club (LFC) defeated Yeti Himalayan Sherpas Club (YHSC) of Nepal by 3-1 in a Quarter Final League match of the ongoing 22nd All India Meghalaya Invitation Football Tournament held at Polo Ground here today.
In a well fought match with both sides following a similar tactics of short passes, LFC's forward- Yinka Joel Sunday Ayeni scored two goals and one goal was scored by forward-Victor Shada.
Ritesh Malla scored the only goal for YHSC. LFC's forward - Victor Shadap opened an account for his team before both the teams could properly settle for the real show. Shadap gave a power long distance shot from the middle of the field right sending the ball right into the opponent net at the 14th minute of the game making an initial tally (1-0).
Immediately after ball was put into play, LFC's Forward - Yinka Joel Sunday Ayeni headed the ball right into the opponents' net in the 14th minute of the game to bring the tally to (2-0).
To compensate for set back, YHSC's Ritesh Mala scored a goal in the 45the minute of the game before the lemon break reducing the tally to (2-1).
Towards the end of the game, YHSC's player - Rupesh K.C. made a mistake with a handball. Yinka Joel Sunday Ayeni took the penalty shot and he made no mistake in sending the ball right into the opponents' net in the 75th minute of the game to ensure victory for his team with (3-1).
