Gerd Müller was the first player to win two Golden Shoes in 1969–70 and 1971–72. Ally McCoist (1991–92 and 1992–93), Thierry Henry (2003–04 and 2004–05) and Lionel Messi (2011–2012 and 2012–2013) are the only players to win in consecutive years.
