Cardiff: Trinidadian striker Kenwyne Jones came off the bench to score his sixth goal of the football season and help fire Cardiff City to a 3-1 victory over Leeds in the English Championship.
The 30-year-old scored seven minutes from time to make the game safe for the hosts, after they had seen their two-goal cushion reduced at the Cardiff City Stadium Saturday, reports CMC.
"One ball forward and Kenwyne made it his - I'm delighted for him," Cardiff coach Russell Slade said.
For Cardiff, it was their second win in their last four league outings and it pushed them up to 11th in the tables on 22 points, just seven points off leaders Watford.
After a goalless first half, the floodgates opened in the second half. Gabon international Ecuele Manga grabbed his first goal for Cardiff in the 61st minute when he nodded in Sean Morrison's header across goal.
Cardiff doubled the lead through Federico Macheda six minutes later when the former Manchester United player's drive went in off a deflection from Leeds' Jason Pearce.
The visitors pulled one back in the 77th minute thanks to Alex Mowatt but Jones, who entered the game in the 75th minute replacing Macheda, pounced on a loose ball following a mix up in the Leeds defence, to score the crucial goal.
