Miami Gardens, Florida, Aug 7: Backup goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo saved two penalties then kicked one of his own to give Inter Milan a shootout victory over Juventus for seventh place in the International Champions Cup friendly tournament Tuesday.
The teams finished regulation level at 1-1, and needed 10 rounds of penalties to decide a winner. Both teams failed to score on their first round of penalties, then each converted their next eight.
Carrizo punched away Mauricio Isla's attempt to open a lead for Juventus in the 10th round. He then took what became the winning penalty, beating Juventus keeper Marco Storari.
Both teams scored in the first half as Ricky Alvarez found the Inter Milan and Arturo Vidal converted a penalty for Juventus.
