Montevideo (Uruguay), Nov 4: Inter Milan forward Diego Forlan is the main absentee from the Uruguay squad to face Chile in World Cup qualifying next week.
Forlan was injured playing for Uruguay in a 1-1 draw at Paraguay in the previous round of qualifiers last month.
Coach Oscar Tabarez has called up Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and Napoli forward Edinson Cavani among the list of 23 players, who all play in foreign clubs.
Uruguay hosts Chile in Montevideo on Nov. 11 looking to continue a promising start to the South American qualifying campaign, which began with a 4-2 home win over Bolivia before the draw with Paraguay.
Uruguay plays Italy in a friendly four days after the Chile match.
