London, Aug 31: United States midfielder Stuart Holden returned from almost six months out injured by playing for Bolton's reserve team on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old Holden played most of Bolton's 7-0 loss to Fulham's reserves in London.
He tweeted: “The hard work has paid off!! ... Came through the 80 mins in good health! BACK in the game!”
Holden has been out since his left knee required 26 stitches following a challenge by Manchester United defender Jonny Evans in a Premier League match in March. AP
