Munich, Sept 8 : Bayern Munich sporting director Christian Nerlinger says striker Mario Gomez will be fit for Saturday's visit of Freiburg in the Bundesliga.
Nerlinger told the club's website Wednesday that “Mario used the break (from international duty) well,” and that his groin injury has healed.
Dutch winger Arjen Robben remains doubtful, however, and will most likely be saved for Bayern's trip to Villareal in the Champions League on Sept. 14.
Nerlinger said Robben “is better” but “I don't know if it's enough for the game against Freiburg.”
He added: “The main thing is that it won't be a long running story with him. We've already had unpleasant experiences with these groin injuries in the past. But now it looks quite good for him.” AP
