Frankfurt: Former Germany goalkeeper Tim Wiese made his professional wrestling debut after he stepped into the ring at the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) live show here.

The 32-year-old, who has made six appearances for the German national football team, was Saturday night officially unveiled as WWE's latest superstar recruit, according to Daily Mail.

The former German keeper, who made 194 appearances for one of Bundesliga's prominent club Werder Bremen between 2005 and 2012 and also played in the Champions League, was named as the official timekeeper for the match between The Usos and the Dust Brothers as part of WWE's European tour.

WWE Deutschland's official tweet read: "Tim Wiese makes his Entrance as a Special Time Keeper for @StardustWWE @Goldust vs @WWEUsos #WWEFrankfurt."

Wiese hung up his gloves after being released by Bundesliga club Hoffenheim in January and put on an incredible amount of muscle after receiving an offer from the WWE in September.

Wiese failed to make his mark at Hoffenheim, playing just 10 times in two seasons between 2012 and 2014.
