Bolton, England, Nov 7: Bolton repaid Stoke for last season's 5-0 humiliation in the FA Cup semifinals by beating its rival by the same score in the Premier League on Sunday.
Ivan Klasnic and Chris Eagles both struck twice at the Reebok Stadium as struggling Bolton secured a win that may kick start its troubled season. Captain Kevin Davies also got on the score sheet as Bolton claimed its first home points of the season.
Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic was at fault for both Bolton's opening goals, with Davies putting Bolton ahead in the second minute. Begovic picked up a back pass after Glenn Whelan lobbed the ball into his own area and Klasnic quickly tapped the resulting free kick for his captain to roll it into an unguarded net.
Begovic then slid in to clear from the feet of Klasnic but succeeded only in finding Eagles, who fired into the bottom corner from a tight angle.
Klasnic brilliantly swept home with a left-foot shot from the edge of the area in the 61st, Eagles slipped the ball past Begovic from an assist by Klasnic, and Klasnic then diverted David Wheater's header past the goalkeeper.
Substitute Tuncay Sanli was then inches away from turning in a cross for a sixth in the closing moments.
