Buenos Aires, Argentina, Oct 17: Boca Juniors and Belgrano played to a 0-0 draw on Sunday, a result that kept Boca on top in Argentina's Apertura football tournament.


Boca improved to 25 points, six ahead of Racing Club and newly promoted Rafaela.

In other results Sunday, Estudiantes defeated Rafaela 3-0, Argentinos Juniors and Colon played a 0-0 draw, and Velez defeated Lanus 2-1.

Gaston Fernandez scored two goals and Mauro Boselli added the other to give Estudiantes only its second victory of the season.

Velez rallied for its victory over Lanus. Diego Valeri put Lanus ahead in the 34th minute, but Velez equalized in the 42nd with a Hector Canteros goal and got the winner from Fernando Ortiz in the 87th.

In Friday and Saturday matches: Olimpo 1, Tigre 1; Newell's 0, Arsenal 0; San Lorenzo 1, Banfield 0; Independiente 2, Godoy Cruz 1; Union 1, All Boys 1; San Martin, 0, Racing Club 0.

Arturo Aquino gave Olimpo a 1-0 lead in the 73rd minute and Tigre's Nelson Carrasco equalized in the 79th.

San Lorenzo picked up its victory with a 71st-minute goal from Juan Salgueiro.

Marco Perez scored the winner for Independiente in the 89th to edge Godoy Cruz. Leonel Nunez put Independiente ahead in the 48th with Ruben Ramirez equalizing in the 63rd.

Paulo Rosales scored in the 31st to give Union its draw with All Boys. Fernando Sanchez opening the scored in the seventh minute for All Boys.
