Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mar 26: Boca Juniors squandered a two-goal lead and settled for a 2-2 draw Sunday against Lanus, which kept Argentina's most followed club from taking over sole possession of first place in Argentina's first division.

Mouche gave Boca the lead in the 40th. He tapped a corner kick gently to a teammate, then took a return pass and lobbed a long, arcing shot just over the fingertips of Lanus goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin.

Riquelme made it 2-0 in the 42nd when he drove home a volley as the ball dropped to him in the area.

Lanus' Pavone got one back a minute later, putting a bouncing header behind Boca keeper Agustin Orion. Orion stopped another shot in the final seconds of the half that would have tied the match.

Paolo Goltz equalized with a header in the 54th, scoring from looping a corner that Orion overran as he came out catch the ball.

Boca went down to 10 men in the 64th when Clemente Rodriguez was sent off for protesting a call.

In Estudiantes' victory, Maruo Boselli scored in the third minute and Raul Iberbia added the other in the 56th. Nicolas Berardo scored in the 26th for Argentinos Juniors.

Ernesto Chevanton got Independiente into the lead in the 42nd, and Ivan Moreno y Fabianesi and Lucas Mugni added second-half goals.
