Barcelona, Sept 20: Barcelona's already thin defense will be without Gerard Pique for the next two to three weeks because of a sprained foot.
Pique injured his left foot in Barcelona's 3-2 win over Spartak Moscow on Wednesday in their Champions League opener.
The Spain defender came up limping after blasting the ball over the crossbar and was replaced by Alex Song in the 12th minute.
Barcelona is already without captain Carles Puyol with a left knee injury and could be without both its starting center backs for the "clasico" Spanish league match against Real Madrid on Oct. 7.
Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova said he was not worried: "I would prefer to have all my players well, but if one can't play another will, or we will look to our youth squad."
