Newcastle, Australia, June 23 : Striker Jason Hoffman scored a hat trick to lead Australia into the next phase of 2012 London Olympic qualifying with a commanding 4-0 win over Yemen on Thursday.
Australia advanced to the group stage 7-0 on aggregate after winning 3-0 in the first leg Sunday, when Hoffman scored twice. The next stage comprises three groups of four nations, with three teams advancing to London.
Hoffman scored in the 18th and 30th minutes before finding the net again early in the second half. Midfielder Aaron Mooy of Scottish side St. Mirren scored Australia's other goal after setting up Hoffman's second. AP
