Adelaide, Australia, Nov 22: Former Netherlands international Andy Slory announced his premature retirement from football on Tuesday, quitting Australian club Adelaide United midseason.
The 29-year-old Slory, who represented the Netherlands in two matches in 2007, had repeatedly clashed with Adelaide coach and Dutch compatriot Rini Coolen, who dropped him for last week's away match against Wellington Phoenix.
The winger played just 11 matches for Adelaide after brief stints at Bulgaria's Levski Sofia and West Bromwich Albion.
He previously played for Dutch power Feynoord from 2007 to 2010.
