Panaji, Jan 12: The AIFF Executive Committee which met at the Football House in Delhi has referred the report by the match commissioner to the disciplinary committee to take action against Churchill for abusing referee Pratap Singh after their match against Dempo held at Nehru Stadium in Margao.
Churchill Alemao, who allegedly abused Singh and the match comissioner after their match against Dempo at the Nehru Stadium , could face sanctions or at least a monetary fine from the All India Football Federation (AIFF) after the disciplinary committee meet later this month.
Churchill won 2-1 after they were denied two penalties by the referee.
The disciplinary committee will also have to decide on the complaint lodged by the Goa Football Association general secretary Alberto Colaco against East Bengal players for allegedly asaulting senior ground superisor Raju Adpaikar and another one from East Bengal that claimed their players were manhandled during a scheduled training session at the Stadium.
The fracas had occured towards the fag end of the training session at Fatorda by East Bengal who had come here to play against Sporting Clube de Goa when senior ground supervisor Raju adpaikar asked East Bengal to vacate the ground and allow his staff to do the markings as Dempo Sports Club were scheduled to play Churchill Brothers later in the day.
The ground supervisor got into an argument with East Bengal coach Trevor Morgan, prompting a furious reaction from Australian striker Tolgay Ozbey.
It was also decided in the meeting that there would be some changes to the I-League fixtures for the forthcoming AFC Challenge Cup.
The Committee has granted Kingfisher East Bengal the permission to replace Alan Gow with another foreign player.
