Athens, Greece, July 17: AEK Athens has signed Iceland forward Eidur Gudjohnsen to a two-year contract, Greek media report.
According to the reports, the deal is worth Pound 1.3 million ($1.84 million) over two years. Former Iceland international Arnar Gretarsson is an AEK director.
The 32-year-old Gudjohnsen has played for Chelsea for six seasons, winning two Premier League titles, and Barcelona, where he won the Champions League in 2009. He also played for Holland's PSV Eindhoven, Premier League sides Bolton, Tottenham, Stoke City and Fulham, and Monaco in the French league.
Gudjohnsen is expected to arrive in Athens Monday.
AEK, the current Greek Cup holder, will play in the Europa League in the coming season. AP
