Marsielle: The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has threatened England and Russia with expulsion from the European Championship (Euro Cup) if the supporters of the respective teams repeat the horrific violence that took on Saturday after the match between the two ended in a 1-1 draw.
Russian and British fans started to fight even before the match started in Marseilles, and continued fighting during and after the match, resulting injury to hundreds of spectators present there.
While French authorities claim to have detained 63 people linked to violence and have gave police powers to ban alcohol around the stadiums, UEFA has admitted that there security flaws in the stadium.
The rampage began with a clash between the local public and British fans before the start of the football extravaganza, but things became worse when the match between Russia and England ended 1-1 draw and the supporters of both teams turned the ground into a war zone.
The violence began at midnight on Thursday when locals and British soccer fans started to fight outside the Queen Victoria Bar near the old seaport.
Meanwhile, UEFA has laid charges against Russia, accusing their fans of crowd disturbances of racist behaviour and throwing fireworks and missiles in the Marseille Stadium.
