New Delhi: India was introduced to cheerleaders with the advent of Indian Premier League. Thousands of cricket fans enjoyed watching the cheergirls whenever any batsman scored a boundary or a sixer, or a bowler grabbed a prized wicket.
Later on, the moral police brigade alongwith politicians raised the issue, and several of the IPL franchisees had to induct cheergirls in Indian dresses.
But cheerleading in the USA is a different ballgame altogether. Whether it's baseball or basketball, cheergirls are a must.
