New Delhi: A 21 year old netball player died of cardiac arrest during the 35th National Games in Kerala on Monday.
Mayuresh Pawar of Maharashtra complained of chest pain after the game and was reportedly given the first aid.
Pawar collapsed after training due to a massive cardiac arrest and was declared dead by doctors at a nearby private hospital, according to National Games Secretariat officials.
He was on his way back to the room after a practice session at the indoor stadium at Vellayani near here along with his other team members. He suddenly collapsed and the others rushed him to the hospital. But, doctors declared him dead.
The body would be handed over to the team and family members after a post mortem and the government would bear all expenses to transport Mayuresh's body to his home state.
