On 30 October 2011, the first F1 Grand Prix was held at the circuit. Sebastian Vettel won the event, his 11th victory of the season. He also took the fastest lap of the race on his last lap.
Sachin Tendulkar waved the chequered flag to end the race. Red Bull won the Constructors Trophy.
