With the New Year bell approaching, Malaysia's ace badminton player Lee Chong Wei may barely have the mood to celebrate as the drug-hit shuttler is keen to clear his name.
The world top ranked has been temporarily suspended from competition by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) "due to an apparent anti-doping regulation violation", after his urine sample was tested positive to the banned anti-inflammatory drug during the World Championships in late August.

Although Lee is confident that his name will be cleared, he also expressed his concern that he would never realize his dreams to win world and Olympic title if he was suspended for a long time.
5) Shakib-Al-Hasan (cricket)
It was not a good year for the Bangladeshi all-rounder. In February, he was banned for three matches by the BCB for "making an inappropriate gesture on live television" during the second ODI against Sri Lanka in Mirpur. He was also fined BDT 300,000 ($3800). He was summoned to appear before a disciplinary committee and missed the first to Asia Cup games as well.
Five months later in July 2014, he was yet again suspended for serious misbehavior with Bangladesh's new coach Chandika Hathurusingha and for his altercation with a spectator during the first ODI against India in Mirpur.
BCB President Nazmul Hassan accused of having a severe attitude problem, which is unprecedented in the history of Bangladesh cricket.He was severely punished with a six month ban and disallowing him to play in overseas competitions until end of 2015.
On September 15, the BCB partially lifted the ban and allowed Shakib to play for Bangladesh in the Asian Games and home Test and limited-overs series against Zimbabwe.
He was also not allowed to play for his IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders in CLT20 but on December 4, BCB finally lifted the ban off and allowed him to play for Melbourne Renegades in Australia's Big Bash League.
