South Korea: Formula One team Sauber says it has extended its engine-supply contract with Ferrari, providing a smooth transition into a 2014 season when the series will switch to V6 turbo engines.

Sauber did not specify on Friday the length of the new deal—which covers engine, gearbox and the KERS power-boost system—beyond saying it was a “multi-year agreement.”

Ferrari has been Sauber's engine supplier since 2010, having earlier had a nine-year deal with the team.

The announcement meant every F1 team except Lotus had confirmed its engine supplier for next season, which will have three companies—Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault—supplying the 11 teams.
