Bhopal: Ace shuttler and Olympic Bronze medallist Saina Nehwal today said that she won't mind a biopic made on her life and wants it to highlight the sport of badminton rather than focus on her.

Saina, who won three titles this year including the recently won China Open, said that if a film or a documentary is made on her then it should promote badminton.

“I think people are already aware of whatever is going on in my life. If a movie comes it should be like sports. It should promote badminton and not me,” bronze-medal winner in 2012 London Games, Saina, who was in the city to receive a cash reward of 50 lakh Rupees by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in an awards function, said.

“So far, films like ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' and ‘Mary Kom' but badminton is a technique game and for making a film on it one has to learn its techniques also,” she added.

Asked who would she like to play the protagonist's role, she said, “Actress Deepika Padukone is fit to play her role as she is also a good badminton player,” adding, she would also like to see superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the hero in the film.

Saina also predicted that India may get two medals in Rio Olympics to be held in 2016.

“PV Sindhu is playing good and in the coming Olympic (Rio-2016) India's Women players may get two medals,” Saina added.

Responding to a question regarding her decision to be coached by Vimal Kumar instead of Pullela Gopichand, she said, “It was an urgent requirement as Gopi Chand (her former coach) was unable to spare much time for me and I am unable to perform well also. My new coach, Vimal Kumar is giving me lot of time and my performance too has improved.”

Saina said that she was not facing much problem in shuttling between Hyderabad and Bangalore as she was aware that for taking training with Vimal Kumar she has to travel to Karnataka's capital.

“I have taken this decision after weighing all the pros and cons,” she added.

To another query, she said that at present she is focused on international events as there is a lot of time left for the Rio Olympics.

Referring to top seed Chinese player Li Xuerui, and others Shixian Wang and Wang Yihan, Saina said, “They are challenge for her. At present nobody is in a position to challenge them, but my record against them has improved a lot.  I have defeated Chinese players number of times recently.”
