Incheon: Indian men's squash team won a historic Asian Games gold medal beating Malaysia 2-0 in the final at the Yeorumul Squash Courts here Saturday.
Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu won the first match 11-8, 11-6, 8-11, 11-4 against Mohamad Azlan Bin Iskandar while Saurav Ghosal fought hard for a 6-11, 11-7, 11-6, 12-14, 11-9 against Ong Beng Hee.
However the women's team lost 0-2 to Malaysia to settle for the silver after Deepika Pallikal and Anaka Alankamony lost their matches in a contest which lasted a little over an hour.
With this Gold, India has now 3-Gold, 4-Silver and 14-Bronze and is 11th in the tally.
