Former batting legend Virender Sehwag, who has amazed us with his impeccable timing on the pitch , is now winning hearts with his tweets which are high on wit and humour.

The Sultan of Najafgarh took a jibe at renowned writer Shobhaa De who faced severe criticism after she wrote a tweet saying that the athletes representing India in Rio Olympics are more interested in taking selfies rather than winning medals.

Sehwag tweeted, “Sakshi Malik ke gale me medal kitna ‘Shobha De’ raha hai na !!! ”

Congratulating Sakshi Malik on winning Bronze medal at the ongoing Rio Olympics, Sehwag tweeted  a subtle yet important message condemning the practice of female foeticide.

Sakshi hails from Haryana where the female infanticide is rampant.

Meanwhile, Sehwag’s tweet on woman empowering went viral with over 10,000 retweets within 4 hours.

The former cricketer also earned praises from none other than superstar Amitabh Bachchan for his witty tweets.

Wrestler Sakshi Malik today scripted history by becoming the first woman wrestler from India to bag an Olympic medal and only fourth female athlete from the country to climb to the podium at the biggest sporting event.

With Sakshi’s example, Sehwag tried to tell people about India’s pride and he stated that a girl can achieve lots more if she is allowed the right to have a birth.

“When the going gets tough, it’s our girls who get going,” he tweeted.

Feeling proud on woman wrestler, former star batsmen tweeted, “Poora bharat is baat ka Sakshi hia, jab koi bht mushkil ho toh is desh ki ladkiyan hi malik hain. Thank U.”

The former Indian run-machine has been very outspoken about the sport’s issue in the past and thus he took this issue at the perfect instant.
