New Delhi, Oct 30: Hockey India pruned down the list of junior probables to 33 players during a three-day selection trials which concluded at the Netaji Subash National Institute of Sports, Patiala.
HI selectors Balbir Singh, B.P. Govinda and Thoaiba Singh and government observer Harbinder Singh and coach Baljeet Singh Saini tested the fitness and performance of all players before pruning the list from 48 to 33.
The selectors will announce the squad of 18 shortly to take part in the second Sultan of Johar Cup in Malaysia Nov 11-18. The tournament will also feature Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and hosts Malaysia.
Following is the list of 33 probables:
Goalkeepers: Keshav Dutt, Sushant Tirkey, Naveen Kumar.
Defenders: Chandan Singh, Gaganpreet Singh, Sukhmanjit Singh, Hans Raj, Gagandeep Singh, Varun Kumar, Lovedeep Singh.
Midfielders: Jatinder Singh, Manish Bishnoi, Jarmanpreet Singh, Baljit Singh, Surender Kumar, Harjit Singh, Rockey Lohchab, Suresh Toppo.
Forwards: Naveen Antil, Talwinder Singh, Tarandeep Singh, Amon Mirash Tirkey, Parvinder Singh, Vinit Kamble, Stanli Minz, Anup Valmiki, Mandeep Singh, Malak Singh, Satbir Singh, Rana Pratap, Aiyppa P.R. Paradanda, Imran Khan, Raju Pal.
