Kakamigahara (Japan): The Indian women's hockey team registered their second consecutive win in the third Asian Champions Trophy to book their berth for the final after beating Malaysia 5-1 here Monday.





Malaysia took the lead in the 15th minute through skipper Nadia Abdul Rahman via a penalty corner. India hit back strongly in the 24th minute as Poonam Rani converted a penalty corner. Both the teams were locked 1-1 at half time.

India dominated the second half and played incredible attacking hockey, scoring four goals through Namita Toppo (44th minute), Ritu Rani (52nd), Amandeep Kaur (54th) and Deep Grace Ekka (65th).

India will now take Japan in their last league match Nov 7 before playing the same opponents in the final Nov 9.

Earlier in the day, Japan defeated China 5-1.
