Harare, Aug 4: Half-centuries by Vusi Sibanda and Hamilton Masakadza took Zimbabwe to 191-2 at tea on the first day of its return to test cricket against Bangladesh on Thursday.
Opener Sibanda made 78 from 153 balls, with seven fours and a six, to drive Zimbabwe's strong start in its first test in six years. Masakadza was 56 not out at tea with six fours and a six.
Sibanda shared a 102-run opening partnership with Tino Mawoyo (43) after Zimbabwe was put in on a green, bouncy wicket at Harare Sports Club by Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan.
Right-arm seamer Rubel Hossain took both wickets for Bangladesh, forcing Mawoyo into a mishit cut shot three balls before lunch and then having Sibanda caught behind midway through the second session. AP
