New Delhi: Speedster Zaheer Khan, who announced his retirement today with immediate effect, received immense appreciation from team-mates as well as on social media for his valuable contribution to Team India.
Zaheer represented the country in 92 Tests and 200 ODIs in which he picked 282 and 311 wickets respectively. He was the highest wicket-taker in ICC World Cup 2011 with 21 wickets.
Today, he shocked the fans with his sudden retirement, as he tweeted, “I bid adieu to my career in international cricket. I look forward to signing off with IPL 9. #ZaksNewBeginning.”
Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar and Captain MS Dhoni took it to Twitter to share their word-of-praise for the left-arm fast bowler.
