Karachi: Former Pakistan captain Asif Iqbal said Younis Khan has silenced his critics forever by displaying glorious batting in the ongoing Test series against Australia.
According to “Dawn” Iqbal said on Friday Younis has not only equalled Herbert Sutcliffe's 89-year record of three hundreds against Australia in three consecutive innings, but has done so at a time when his career and the image of Pakistan cricket were in serious need of rejuvenation,” Asif said when approached by Dawn.
“Remember, his great feat started after a disastrous series against Sri Lanka and an equally dismal thrashing at the hands of Australia in the T20 and ODI series. Younis was excluded from the ODI squad as the national selectors had made it clear that as far as ODIs were concerned he was not in the frame.
