New Delhi: Team India kept their winning streak intact after handing Pakistan their sixth loss in the history of World Cup. Let's take a look on some of the factors which helped India in winning the high voltage match against the arch rival.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni decided to bat first after he won the toss. It proved to be a good call as teams batting first in the World Cup in Australia has been winning the matches. Pakistan's skipper Misbah-ul-Haq also said during the toss that even he would have taken the same decision if he had won the toss.

Shikhar Dhawan who was looking out of form before this Indo-Pak encounter for a long was kept in the team and was given another chance in the match to open Team India's batting. The southpaw batted brilliantly and scored 73 runs off 76 balls.

Team India's run machine Virat Kohli was sent at his usual number three spot and he proved this decision as a good choice as he became the first Indian cricketer to hit a century against Pakistan in the World Cup.

Dhoni's another move which can be said to be masterstroke was sending Suresh Raina at number four ahead of the regular Ajinkya Rahane at that crucial juncture after the departure of Shikhar Dhawan.

And the final step was the rise of Indian pacers after a poor show during the tri-series. Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Mohit Sharma bowled a good line  and not allowing the Pakistani batsmen to score freely.
