Wellington, New Zealand: Sri Lanka fast bowler Suranga Lakmal has been fined for breaching cricket's Code of Conduct by bowling two high full tosses in the last over of his team's World Cup match against England on Sunday.
Match referee David Boon fined Lakmal 30 percent of his match fee after the player admitted "conduct contrary to the spirit of the game."
Lakmal was stopped from bowling by Australian umpire Rod Tucker when he delivered a second consecutive high full toss to England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler. Sri Lanka's Tillakaratne Dilshan finished the over.
Boon said "while making my decision I took into account that it was dangerous and unfair bowling, there were no mitigating circumstances and there was no remorse from the bowler."
