Adelaide: On Sunday, the Adelaide Airport will be all set to rescue the thousands of fans of India and Pakistan who will be reaching here to watch the India-Pakistan match of World Cup 2015 however, might not get a hotel accommodation.
The airport is expected to turn into more than a dormitory on the day of India-Pakistan face-off. There will be a giant screen playing Bollywood entertainment, bean bags, artificial lawns with picket fences and food outlets open all night.
As reported in the Indian Express daily, Brenton Cox, Executive General Manager (Corporate Affairs) at Adelaide Airport told that this is the first time that the terminal will be open all night.
Efforts are also being made to put the game live on the giant screen at the terminal.
It is speculated that around 5000 fans will be spending the night at the airport and then catch one of the Monday morning flights back to their destinations.
Reports further state that 20,000 non-Adelaide fans will be filling the 50,000 capacity stadium for the most-hyped contest whose tickets were sold out within hours.
Fans from the two rival countries are thronging the city filling in all possible places of accommodation supporting in blue or green shirts, attempting selfies or trying to get autographs or atleast glimpse of their favorite cricketers.
Special plans have been made for the D-day also. A tradition first started by a local football club of Adelaide, around 5000 loyalists in India blues will march together on the bridge built over the river that flows just outside the stadium.
According to localites, the march to the Oval is so popular that fans from the rival city club regret that they didn't come up with the idea first.
