Chennai, Sept 19: Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming said not much would be demanded of the team's Indian players such as skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who are joining after a tiring and disappointing tour of England, during the Champions League Twenty20.

"...maybe with such players (those returning from the England tour), we won't make them practice too long or make too many demands of them," Fleming told reporters.

India were whitewashed 0-4 in Tests and handed a 0-3 drubbing in the five-match ODI series in England. Playing almost non-stop since their World Cup triumph in April, most of India's top players are nursing injuries now.

But since Dhoni is not injured, he will be leading Chennai in the Champions League, where the two-time IPL winners are the defending champions.

Asked whether the team could be complacent after the success of the past, Fleming said, "I think we need a bit more success before that happens. I don't think it's much of an issue. Maybe if we win a couple of more (IPL titles), we'll get complacent, that'll be a nice problem to have!" he joked.

Chennai's opening batsman Murali Vijay, meanwhile, brushed aside concerns about players' fatigue, saying, "We're professionals, so we can't really cite fatigue as an excuse (for not performing). We're going to a big tournament. We should play as a team and win this."

"Injuries will definitely affect performance, but these things happen, as this is a sport. So you have to take care of yourself and enjoy yourself. If you don't enjoy it, you can't do much," he added. PTI
