New Delhi: Master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar today took to micro-blogging website Twitter to contradict news of him attending the launch of Celebrity Badminton League (CBL). He also denied all the reports stating that he will be honouring the winners of the tournament.
The inauguration of CBL, scheduled to take place on January 29, 2016, in Dubai, will feature four different teams namely Chennai Eagles, Falcon Fires, Naturals Peacock and CRV Pelicans. Each team will comprise of 10 leading actors from Indian Regional Film Fraternity including a captain.
Actor, singer and stunt-coordinator Arun Vijay, captain of Chennai Eagles had said, “When we went to Dubai for the launch of the league, it was Sachin Tendulkar who introduced the teams and gave away the T-shirts. Sachin Tendulkar, I believe, is the brand ambassador of the event. Even I have been told that Sachin will be giving away the prizes.”
Also, several advertisements are doing the rounds of the social media stating the same.
However, Sachin's tweet has clarified the entire matter, proving all these reports untrue. He came up with two back-to-back tweets to dismiss the speculations.
“Very much in India on January 29th and not at any grand finale in Dubai!!” said his first tweet.
“Hope my fans aren't misled by false advertising, I will be in India on the 29th of January,” read his second tweet.
The other three teams of CBL will be headed by actors Bharath, Jayam Ravi, and Meena.
