New Delhi: Team India's most successful and prolific spinner Ravichandran Ashwin today won his fifth ‘Man of the Series' award after India convincingly beat an ultra-defensive South Africa in the fourth Test in Delhi by a whopping 337 runs.

However, commentator Sanjay Manjerekar goofed up during the presentation ceremony and announced that it was Ashwin's fourth ‘Man of the Series' award.

Ashwin, who was at the podium, was quick to respond and corrected the former cricketer saying he had won five ‘Man of the Series' awards and not four as stated by Manjrekar.

Former Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag won five ‘Man of the Series' awards, the most by any Indian player. However, it took them 38 and 74 test series respectively to conquer the feat.

With just 12 series in his four-year test career, Ashwin is clearly ahead of the former Indian batsmen. In fact, Ashwin has more 'Man of the Series' awards than 'Man of the Match' awards (4) in his Test career.

Ashwin emerged as the highest wicket-taker from both teams as he bagged an impressive 31 wickets from the four test match series against South Africa.

India won the Test series 3-0 following wins at Mohali and Nagpur. The Bangalore match was washed out.
