New Delhi: Team India's slow left-arm orthodox bowler Axar Patel today bowled a turning deliver in the Rajkot ODI to send the dangerous South African skipper AB De Villiers back to pavilion for a mere 5 runs.
South Africa's score was 210 in 41 overs when Axar in his very first delivery of that over dismissed De Viliers Leg Before Wicket (LBW)
Axar Patel bowled a quicker delivery and darted it to AB de Villiers who played it on the off side but only after it made a contact with his pads.
The early dismissal of AB de Villiers meant that South Africa team which was looking to score in excess of 300 on a flat wicket in Rajkot ended up scoring just 270 runs in the stipulated 50 overs.
De Villiers who was dismissed cheaply in the Indore ODI was looking to score some quick runs after the opening batsman De Kock played a superb knock to get to his sevent century. His century was also the first one to be scored by any player in the Rajkot stadium in an international match.
