Lahore: Former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram hopes Indian batting great Sachin Tendulkar will play his final Test farewell against Pakistan in Kolkata.
Tendulkar, who is now 40, will play his 200th Test later this year against the West Indies in India.
It was Wasim Akram against whom Sachin had debuted in Karachi in 1989.
The former Pakistani captain says Tendulkar should play his farewell test against Pakistan.
"I have created an ideal scenario for his farewell Test: India playing Pakistan at Eden Gardens, Kolkata with a passionate crowd and both nations at a standstill," Wasim told a news agency.
"It could be the best farewell Tendulkar can have," he added.
There has been speculative reports in the media that India may cancel its tour to South Africa later this year and invite Pakistan for a two-Test tour.
