New Delhi: Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli could well be on the way of leading the India team in the limited overs format also.
According to a report in Indian Express, Mahendra Singh Dhoni can make way for Kohli for leading the team in the One-Day Internationals for the upcoming South African tour in India.
The report also claimed selectors do not want the different personalities and captaincy styles of Dhoni and Virat to affect the team in the long run so they are discussing to hand over the captainship to the latter .
“Even in the previous selection meeting there were talks about Virat being named captain for all formats. But it is also worth keeping in mind that Dhoni is the most successful India captain ever and Virat is just finding his feet as far as captaincy goes,” a source was quoted saying to The New Indian Express
India will be taking on South Africa in a 72 day-long energy-sapping tour starting from 2 October. The two teams will be playing three T20Is, five ODIs and four Test matches until 7 December.
