New Delhi: Virat Kohli, the newly crowned Team India captain, on Friday became the first cricketer to cross the 5-million mark on Twitter with 5,004,544 followers.
Virat Kohli is all set to lead the team in the fourth and final Test against Australia in Sydney starting January 6.
Virat Kohli was also quick to thank his fans on Twitter for putting him on top of the most followed cricketers on Twitter list.
Kohli (@imVkohli) heads the list with a total base of 5,004,544 fans, which is higher than Sachin Tendulkar's (@sachin_rt) 4,910,498 fans.
Kohli had recently become the most followed cricketer on Twitter surpassing Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar.
The retired batting great Tendulkar, until recently, was holding the numero uno position in the social networking site.
In just over three months, Kohli has gained over a million followers goes to underline his rising popularity.
"Here's the 4 million follower selfie. Hope you like it :)," Kohli, currently in Australia for the four-match Test series, had written on his twitter handle after crossing the 4 lakh mark in October.
