Vijay Hazare Trophy Final 2021 Highlights, Tamil Nadu vs Himachal Pradesh

Riding on Shubham Arora's unbeaten century, Himachal Pradesh beat Tamil Nadu by 11 runs (VJD Method) in the final to win their maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy title, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, here on Sunday. Batting first, Tamil Nadu posted a challenging total of 314 in 49.4 overs, courtesy of a brilliant hundred by experienced Dinesh Kartik (116 off 103). Apart from Kartik, Baba Indrajith (80), Shahrukh Khan (42), and Vijay Shankar (22) also chipped in with useful knocks

> TN 311/10 after 50 overs Digvijay Rangi broke into action to break the 202-run partnership between the centurion Dinesh Karthik and Baba Indrajith after the latter was dismissed. Soon, Karthik departed at 102 but the run-throttle was pressed at the same force by Shahrukh Khan who smashed 42 off 21 and found some support from skipper Vijay Shankar. While wickets kept tumbling and the yellow brigade was bundled for 311 runs, they managed an over-the line score given the fact that they were 40/4 at the end of 12 overs.

> TN 221/4 after 40 overs Dinesh Karthik and Baba Indrajith look invincible! The duo is breathing fire and is aiming boundaries on every ball. The two have a 160+ run stand between them where Indrajith has smashed his fifty while Karthik is just one run away from his century. Himachal Pradesh are badly looking for a wicket to stem the run-flow. 

> TN 112/4 after 30 overs Tamil Nadu finally found some harvest in Dinesh Karthik and Baba Indrajith's partnership that brought Tamil Nadu out of the choppy waters. The partnership between the two has gone past 70 runs while Tamil Nadu's wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik is nearing his fifty. 

> TN  60/4 after 20 overs Dinesh Karthik and Baba Indrajith have taken the responsibility to drive Tamil Nadu. The duo is rotating the strike, keeping the scoreboard ticking and trying to stabilize their side that earlier saw quick scalps.

> TN 40/4 after 15 overs Another Tamil Nadu batsman Murugan Ashwin has been sent to the pavilion. Clearly, Tamil Nadu are struggling to put a show with the bat on D-Dat against Himachal in the final of Vijay Hazare. Besides the economical bowling, the HP bowlers are getting regular scalps. Tamil Nadu are desperately looking for a solid partnership. 

> TN 28/2 after 10 overs Tamil Nadu dealt with another early blow as they lost their another opener- N Jagadeesan for just nine runs. Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore and Murugan Ashwin need to consolidate in the middle, get some runs on the board and stabilize their side. 

> TN 15/1 after 5 overs Vinay Galetiya gets the big fish and sends Baba Aparajith to the pavilion for just two runs. Not the kind of start Tamil Nadu were expecting. Clearly, Tamil Nadu batters are under the pump as Vinay Galetiya and Sidharth Sharma are keeping it tight with their economical bowling for the yellow brigade.

While Himachal Pradesh would be playing their first-ever final in any format, Tamil Nadu have lifted the trophy five times in the history of the competition.
