Tamil Nadu vs Karnataka, Quarterfinal 2

Tamil Nadu won by 151 runs

Riding on a brilliant century by N Jagadeesan followed by superb bowling performances by R Silambarasan and Washington Sundar Tamil Nadu thrashed Karnataka by 151 runs to enter the semifinals. 

KAR 155/5 after 30 overs | Target 355  Karnataka are five down and have 200 runs to chase, giving heavy dependency on the subsequent batsmen. Praveen Dubey and Srinivas Sharath drove Karnataka to give their side the stabalization after the early wickets. 

KAR 103/4 after 20 overs | Target 355  After the loss of four early wickets, Abhinav Manohar and Srinivas Sharath have steadied Karnataka. The duo is carefully facing the Tamil Nadu's bowling attack and is forging towards a 50-run partnership. 

KAR 75/4 after 15 overs | Target 355 - Tamil Nadu are right on top of this knockout and have one foot in the semifinal as they have left Karnataka reeling at 75/4 with Silambarasan and Sai Kishore dismissing Rohan Kadam and Krishnamurthy Siddharth. To add further woes, M Siddharth got the prized scalp of Manish Pandey to leave Karnataka in the doldrums. Karnataka top-order batsmen have succumbed to scoreboard pressure. Tamil Nadu on attack mode.

KAR 55/1 after 10 overs | Target 355 Krishnamurthy Siddharth and Rohan Kadam have forged a half-century stand as Karnataka requires 300 runs to make it to the semifinal. The fall of Devdutyt Padikkal dented Karnataka's run chase but they are back on track with Siddharth and Kadam taking the attack to the opposition. Tamil Nadu would not mind much as they have runs in the bank and will look to make further inroads. Sandeep Warrier and R Silambarasan are operating at the moment.

KAR 23/1 after 5 overs | Target 355 After the batting blitz, Tamil Nadu started the proceedings with the ball in an excellent manner as Sandeep Warrier removed Karnataka's star opener- Devdutt Padikkal for a duck. The swashbuckling batsman didn't even open his batting account as he fell prey to an lbw of Sandeep Warrier's bowling.

TN 354/8 (50) BIZZARE! 102 runs from the last 10 overs. Even though Tamil Nadu lost four wickets but Shahrukh Khan's quickfire- 79 off 39 was solid enough for TN to register a handsome total. It was Shahrukh's show in the end that had put the yellow brigade over 350-runs on the board. 

TN 252/4 (40) The 25-year-old Jagadeesan reached his patiently constructed century but departed quickly thereafter. During the same he had a 50-run stand with Karthik.  

TN 182/2 (30) Tamil Nadu batsmen- Jagadeesan and Kishore wove a solid 147-run partnership between them before the latter departed at 61. Senior player Dinesh Karthik supported Jagadeesan then from the other end. 

TN 109/1 (20) Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore 34(47), N Jagadeesan 56(56) Jagadeesan, Sai Kishore jammed well and together built upon a good partnership to trouble Karnataka bowlers who were badly searching for a breakthrough. Meanwhile, Jagadeesan reached his well-crafted fifty. 

TN 42/1 (10) Tamil Nadu lost opener Baba Aparajith early in the powerplay. Jagadeesan, Sai Kishore drove Tamil Nadu thereafter.

Vinay Galetiya, Sidharth Sharma and Pankaj Jaiswal's excellent bowling spells followed by Prashant Chopra exceptional knock of 99 runs helped Himachal Pradesh beat Uttar Pradesh by 5 wickets.
