Wellington, Jul 5: Former captain Daniel Vettori says he will not accept a New Zealand Cricket contract this season while he attempts to make a full recovery from injuries which have recently hampered his career.
The 34-year-old underwent surgery to repair his Achilles tendon after New Zealand's recent tour to England and expects a three- to six-month rehabilitation before he will know whether he can recover full fitness.
He said on Friday he will not accept a retainer from New Zealand Cricket or his Northern Districts provincial side until he is certain of his future availability.
