India beat England to qualify for the final of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025. The defending champions produced an extraordinary performance, especially with the ball to get the job done. Parunika Sisodia and Vaishnavi Sharma clinched three wickets each and later, G Kamalini made an excellent half-century as India won by nine wickets and with five overs remaining.
Batting first, England lost back-to-back wickets of Jemima Spence and Trudy Johnson. The other opener Devina Perrin and captain Abi Norgrove rescued the team from a difficult spot and stitched an important 44-run partnership. Perrin departed after scoring 45 runs while Norgrove made 30. The rest of the England batters surrendered to the Indian spinners as they were bundled for 113 runs.
Vaishnavi and Parunika dismantled England’s middle order while Ayushi Shukla played the perfect role of supporting cast, clinching two wickets. In the second innings, Kamalini looked flawless, as the opener made an unbeaten 56 off 50 deliveries to help India pick up a comfortable win. Gongadi Trisha, who had a terrific campaign, made 35 runs off 29 deliveries. Courtesy of their valuable knocks, India progressed to the next round with absolute ease.
Meanwhile, India will play South Africa in the summit clash, slated to take place on February 02 at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur. Notably, South Africa defeated Australia by five wickets to qualify for the final. Ashleigh van Wyk was the star for them with the ball, as the spinner clinched four wickets and was adjudged Player of the Match. Among batters, Jemma Botha and Kayla Reyneke made 37 and 26 respectively, while chasing 106 runs.
On the other hand, Parunika was adjudged Player of the Match in the other semi-final for her incredible performance in the first innings of the match. She conceded only 21 runs in four overs and clinched three.
