At Notthingham in the second inning of the first test, India were 140 for one at one stage and looked like heading for a big score when it lost five wickets in quick succession to be in pathetic situation. From 140/1 India were 184 for six. However Stuart Binny and Bhuvneshwar Kumar steered India of trouble and helped it post 391. The match ended in a draw.

India not only made a  remarkable come back in the second test at Lord's  but also won a test at Lord's after a gap of 28 years. However India faced a batting collapse here as well when they lost five wickets for just 59 runs in the first innings.
