Raipur: Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Tom Moody has praised Moises Henriques for his outstanding 74-run knock in an IPL match, saying the Australian all-rounder is a capable player who has delivered with both bat and ball.

Henriques struck a blistering 74 off 46 balls against Delhi Daredevils in an Indian Premier League encounter yesterday, helping his side reach 163/4 at the Shaeed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium here.

Daredevils were restricted to 157/4, losing by six runs.

“Moises Henriques is an experienced player. He hasn't played a lot of international cricket but he has been around IPL getting a lot of opportunity. What he has shown is more than capable (today), taking the responsibility in the top order batting well. His bowling has also been handy, he gives us depth with the ball too,” Moody said at the post-match press conference.

About the balance in his side, Moody said, “At this moment the balance of the side is well suited to the combination we are carrying, we have. We have got two world-class bowlers on the sidelines but you know in the same we also got world-class batsmen, Kane Williamson sitting on the sidelines.

“We cannot play with everyone and the balance with which we have gone into the game has been effective in the past couple of matches. We enjoyed success with that.”

The 49-year-old coach also praised the skills of Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and captain David Warner.

“Absolutely he is backing up well. With the new ball, he is dangerous, the swing with the new ball he can get (especially) in the closing over when the pressure is on his defencive skills has been outstanding,” Moody said lauding Bhuvneshwar's consistent performance.

Hailing Warner's leadership skills, Moody said, “He has been excellent. I think his tactical judgement has been good.  As a captain he made right moves in the right times, he has been calm under pressure. Certainly the bowlers have enjoyed having the Australian opener Warner as captain because he has given them responsibility and he has done a god job.”

When asked whether the spin department of Sunrisers will be more attacking in forthcoming matches, Moody said his team opted for off-spinners against Delhi because the team's top order has a number of left-handers.

“We are looking forward to getting back and win the next game. Kings XI Punjab is the next opponent, we know that they are dangerous side,” Moody said commenting on their strategy for the next contest.

Earlier, Delhi Daredevils wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock expressed that playing condition was a bit difficult here.

“It was never an easy wicket to offer new batsman to come in and bat freely. From day one it was bit hot,” Kock said.

“....You know every team goes through a low patch where something is not right as it happens in the game. But you know this we will have to fix it and come back in next game and finish off this tournament well,” he said.

De Kock smashed a half-century off 29 balls against SRH.

“I am happy now finally getting a game but still disappointed, its loss. But I am sure it's hard for anybody you know sitting out in any team anywhere.

Everybody wants to play everybody wants to compete, it's good to be back in field and play well,” he said on being asked about his performance.

He also refused to hold Yuraj Singh's struggling performance responsible for team's poor show in the tournament.

“This is matter of time to coming back to form. Yuvi is such a great player. It's just the matter of happening for him....Need to find some confidence and he will be back in it,” Kock added.
