Melbourne: Disappointed at the outcome of the 3rd Test which resulted in a draw, Australian skipper Steven Smith said they missed few opportunities and dropped some catches which costs them the game.
The 3rd Test ended in a draw when Smith called-off the play with 4 over to spare.
Commenting on the late declaration in the morning Smith said, "There was not much movement in the wicket and that's why we declared so late. Indians have got good batting line-up. We didn't want to give a chance to Indians to take the game away from us."
"We played conservatively to register a 2-0 win and a series win was really important for us," said Smith.
Smith had a word of praise for India saying, "Indians played a good game of cricket."
